An API key is required to view all the 'My' pages and for direct API calls to the tracking servers by third party applications. The key is associated with the email address used during node configuration. If a key was obtained from a node hoster, enter it in 'Use Existing Key'.
If your main key is missing, enter your email and the server will look up your key and send an email to confirm and save it.
Enter an existing API key. If someone else hosts your nodes ask your provider for a key.
There are two levels of API keys: a main key and sub keys. Sub keys belong to one main key.
A sub key is linked to a super node by the optional category field (in the node's config.json). Each node with the same category will be included in any of the My pages and in API calls.
If you desire to use Single Address Staking (a verified address), a sub key is required to verify the stake address using the Horizen Stake Verification Tool. An existing sub key may be used or sub key may be created and used to verify a stake address prior to any nodes being set up which will use that stake address.
Once a stake address is active, multiple nodes can use that address provided the balance is sufficient to cover all the nodes. Alternate payout addresses can also be configured. See the Stake Tool instructions.
A sub key may be temporarily disabled by editing the Status field in the grid. Click 'active', deselect the checkmark, then press Enter (or click elsewhere).
The sub key ceases to work until it is set back to active.
If a sub key is compromised, it may be replaced with a new key. Select one or more active keys and use the 'Replace Selected Active Sub Keys' button to replace the keys. A new key will be create and if there are any verified stake addresses associated with the old sub key, they will be updated with the new sub key.
